Fitted floor panels are identical to the basic floor drop panel with the exception that they are fashioned with an overlapping top surface so that the panels fit tightly together with only a slightly visible seam. This requires that panels be fabricated in three slightly different shapes; 1025mm square corner panels with two overlapping sides removed, 1025x1050mm perimeter panels with one overlapping side removed, and 1050mm square inner panels with all four overlapping sides intact. Though more complicated to make, they may often offer a net savings in fabrication by eliminating finishing strips. Because the tight panel fit eliminates boarder finishing strips except along the Primary frame members, their clean removal is more complex as they must be pried up in series from the Primary frame edge, or with the aid of a suction lift as sometimes used with computer room flooring.
